Loa loa first contaminate deerfly. Once these bugs are tainted a single bite will spread the parasite. Not at all like scabies, this parasite can’t be passed from person to person. The adult worm will wander through the skin until it reaches the host’s eye. If the host is unlucky enough to have a male and a female worm, it will produce more eggs. Those eggs will circulate through the blood stream and spread throughout the body.
